Decade Products Introduces MACX®48 Bulk Harvest Bin
Larger Size Bin Fits Directly On Harvesting Equipment

Decade Products has introduced a new larger size of its popular MACX® Bulk Harvest Bin that directly fits on harvesting equipment to minimize produce handling.

The MACX®48 is a 48" x 48" vented bin with a maximum load capacity of 1,500 lbs. Like the 48" x 40" MACX® bin, the MACX®48 is constructed of high-density polyethylene structural foam for high strength and superior impact resistance for a longer-lasting, tough but lightweight stacking bin. The longer length better fits field harvesting equipment and increases volume to 217 U.S. gallons.

"We've heard from our customers that a larger bin would allow them to avoid the unnecessary produce transfers that add costly, time-consuming steps and risk damaging product," said Ralph Harris, President and CEO of Decade Products. "With the MACX®48, producers can all but eliminate handling between the field and market. This bin can travel from the field to the processing facility and even straight onto the truck to market without disturbing its contents."

The MACX®48 features an industry-high concentration of vent slots for faster cooling, drying and processing times. Its smooth interior surfaces allow for better packout and can be high-pressure washed and sterilized. The HDPE construction prevents the splinters, pests, pathogens and mold common to wood bins, while meeting USDA/HAACP standards for direct food contact. It is engineered for safe stacking to 10 high for increased warehouse capacity.

The MACX®48 is available for immediate delivery with no minimum order quantity. Standard colors are available in stock. Custom colors and molded company logos are available for easy identification and tracking.

KitBin® ErgoNizer Improves Safety, Lowers Pick and Pull Operating Costs for Distribution Centers.

KitBin® ErgoNizer pallet/container system from Decade Products is specially engineered to improve distribution center safety and lower the cost of pick and pull operations. The unique ErgoNizer pallet base features reinforced center legs and integral rubber anti-slip inserts that increase the system's holding power. For maximum application flexibility, ErgoNizer systems allow operators to use the pallet by itself, or with detachable sidewalls that make up the standard KitBin system.

While filling orders, three walls of the container can be secured in place on the anti-slip pallet for easy access and improved ergonomics. This means that products remain secured in the palletized container system and workers avoid back strain and pulled muscles. When the order is completed, the fourth sidewall is attached and can be secured with a KitBin lid for direct shipping. Securing a second layer of sidewall panels with specially designed stabilizing clips, transforms the system into a KitBin XT extended height container on the ErgoNizer pallet. A new clip design permits the top half of the wall to be folded down for easier access.

Decade Products, LLC produces a wide range of bulk shipping and storage containers for industrial, agricultural and food processing applications worldwide. The company provides innovative, high quality container solutions of HDPE structural foam materials engineered to stand the test of time, increase productivity and reduce material handling costs. Located in modern manufacturing facilities in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA, Decade Products is a joint venture between industry leaders Dolav Plastic Products of Israel and Grand Rapids-based Cascade Engineering, Inc.

KitBin® XT Bulk Containers Provide Greater Volume and Increased Versatility

The new KitBin XT bulk container from Decade Products combines all of the features of the standard KitBin knockdown container with the ability to handle approximately 70% more weight and volume, translating to increased versatility and more savings.

Specially modified panels and stabilizing clips let you join a second layer of walls together to make a "two-story" container, and newly designed clips allow the top half of a sidewall to be folded down for easier access. The container's improved access helps workers avoid strenuous reaching, back strain and pulled muscles. KitBin XT bulk containers can lower the cost of pick and pull operations because they permit 3 or 4 walls to be set in-place to secure products, minimize damage, and speed processing of "cubed" shipments.

KitBin XT panels are interchangeable for ease of handling, lower replacement cost and reduced inventory expense. The assembled containers are 44" high (twice the standard KitBin), and provide a weight limit for a single box of 2,200 lbs., compared to 1,320 lbs. for the standard KitBin. With the industry's highest return ratio at 300 empty containers per 53' trailer, Kit Bin XT bulk containers feature a patented locking wall design, maintenance-free, impact resistant HDPE structural foam construction, smooth surfaces for easy cleaning, and temperature resistance from + 140° F to -0° F (+ 60° C to -40° C). Specially engineered strapping slots in the container's sidewalls facilitate positive securement of contents. KitBin XT sidewall panels may be used with either the standard KitBin pallet, or with the new ErgoNizer pallet to provide greater application flexibility.

DECADE PRODUCTS LLC, Adds Hampel Thermoformed Pallets, Trays and Containers to Product Line

DECADE PRODUCTS is pleased to announce an exclusive agreement to market thermoformed plastic pallets, custom trays and Intrustor containers manufactured by Hampel Corporation. With expertise in single sheet, twin sheet, and deep draw thermoforming, Hampel specializes in providing material handling solutions for large components and parts. Among the company's many innovations is wireframe reinforcement during the single sheet and twin sheet forming process to increase weight bearing capacities.

Decade's lightweight, highly durable thermoformed pallets are constructed of maintenance-free, high density polyethylene (HDPE) that eliminates rust, splinters, and paint chips. Easy to clean and more cost-effective and user-friendly than cardboard and wood pallets, they are ideal for grocery, distribution, retail, food processing, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and export applications. Available in sizes 30" x 32" through 48" x 49", these pallets feature a nestable configuration that reduces storage and transportation costs. They are available with a unique stackable design option to permit 4-way side forklift entry and ease of access. Other options include a variety of material thicknesses to match weight requirements and a lip that prevents goods from shifting during transport.

Product-specific trays and pallets are custom designed to fit unique components that must be individually "cradled" for transport in-plant or between plants. These products provide the ideal material handling solution for large parts and sub-systems up to a maximum 78" x 126" x 70" deep. Available in various colors for product identification, these custom designed trays and pallets offer options including a color stripe (to identify product and facilitate correct pallet alignment), logo for customer or product identification, seat belts (to secure products), and steel encapsulated reinforcement.

Intrustor Containers are engineered to transport and store semi-finished and finished goods while generating substantial cost savings for users. The Intrustor "mirror image" design allows the pallet to serve as both pallet and lid, and with the addition of a sleeve to these components, they form a bulk shipping container. These containers feature a quick-fold design for great knock-down ratio, 4-way forklift entry and available encapsulated steel reinforcement.

Thermoformed plastic technology provides several key advantages in the design and manufacturing of pallets, trays and containers, including shorter leadtimes and lower costs to build new tools, plus shorter setup times for small production runs. Thermoformed plastic pallets and containers also offer increased strength, greater design possibilities, and improved heavy-duty performance using a twin sheet forming process.
